That’s it! I’m taking the plung!

Ça y est! On y va!

After having been asked by so many of my French visitors to write in French, I’ve decided to go beyond the limits of a single language blog and try my luck with a bilingual format!
So a big hello to all my French visitors.
In the next few weeks (or months?) I’ll be trying to update the whole blog.
In the mean time .... welcome!

Sheep to Sweater Sunday n° 17 "The BIG Project"

De la Toison au Tricot n̊ 17 “Le Grand Projet”

I have a number of different projects in mind for this year.
But I have one BIG project. It is THE project and will take priority over all others. There will be plenty of yarn for all sorts of other projects, but this is the project.

The big project is a fair isle cardigan from Meg Swansen’s Knitting : 30 Designs for Hand Knitting. Here’s a picture of the finished sweater knit by a fellow Ravelry member.

A big thanks to fellow Ravelry member, LindaPinOKC, for the photo.

I think this is an absolutely beautiful sweater.
There are a number of things that I love about this sweater. Meg’s fair isle design is just stunning. She designed this sweater using Jamieson & Smith Shetland Wool and 4 of the 6 colors called for are natural colors : natural colors that I have in ouessant wool. I’ll be using natural black from “Margot”, moorit (brown) from “Nougatine”, mioget (honey-beige) from “Merveille”, and oatmeal (grey) from “Sonnaille” all in natural ouessant wool! I’ll need to blend/create two additional colors to complete the palette : heather & ghillie green.

Samples of my wool for this cardigan.
Echantillons de laine filée pour ce cardigan.

For the heather, I am blending fushia, blue, black, brown, and white.

For the ghillie green I’m blending 50% natural moorit (brown) and 50% forest green.

It will be a real challenge to complet this sheep to sweater project but I’m really excited about it! It is “THE BIG PROJECT!”

Thank you for visiting the Spinning Shepherd!
