An invitation ...

Je vous invite ...

Why not join me in my quest of blue from days gone by ?

If you're tempted by the beautiful shades of natural blue from the woad plant ...
If you'd like to discover the history of woad, how to grow this plant and how to processes woad ...
I would like to invite you to join me in this little blue adventure !

To start out, you will need to purchase woad seeds (Isatis tinctoria).
You can buy them at the Comptoir des Graines, at woad.org.uk, or even on eBay.

And why not get together on Ravelry ?
I've just started a Ravelry group :
Dreaming of Blue § Rêve du Bleu

In the mean time, I'll be thinking about beautiful skeins of blue yarn...
... to be continued ...

Dreaming of Blue § Rêve du Bleu.

... à suivre ...

I'm game! I'm not sure how I'll obtain woad here in my neck of the woods---I'll look into it and get back to you. I'll find you on ravelry.

I have dyed with woad and grow my own every year; it's beautiful, the blue, so soft and warm and wonderful! Have been thinking of you the whole WOVEMBER long, I hope you are well? I think of you often, but especially in WOVEMBER because I learnt so much on your blog about how wool is grown! I hope you and the Ouessants are very well x

Thank you for visiting the Spinning Shepherd!
