A Bun in the Oven ?

Un polichinelle dans le tiroir ?

It's possible ... but it's really too soon to say !
Essentially, this year the Spinning Shepherd has the privilege of using two lovely rams from Hervé Vaillant's flock.

Hervé used both of these rams earlier this breeding season.
So this year, my two breeding groups were put together on January 20th.
In other words, my first lambs won't arrive before June 17th.

As for buns in the oven ...

 ... oh yes !  ... we're working on it ...
To the great joy of the ewes, these two beautiful rams seem to be up to the job at hand !

And as for the Spinning Shepherd ... she must be patient !
At least five months of waiting before seeing this year's lambs !

...  ah oui ...

Handsome little white ram Diane :-)
You do lamb quite late...we have lambs due late March. That means I get fresh fleece to spin in early March...hurray!!

Thanks Jody !
Yes ... they are both stunning little fellows.
Most Ouessant sheep start coming into season rather late (earliest usually mid-October) ... and most lambs are born in April-May.
I'll be shearing before lambing ... most likely in May.
Even for Ouessant sheep this will be late ... but given the chance to use these rams .... I don't mind summer lambs.
